Levy Producing Berenstain Bears Film
Shawn Levy (“Night at the Museum”) has signed on to produce a film adaptation of The Berenstain Bears book series for Walden Media reports USA Today.
Blending live-action and computer animation, the comedy based on the works of Jan and Stan Berenstain will follow the bear family as they deal with more contemporary topics relevant to both children and parents.
Writers have yet to be hired but the film’s original story will incorporate details from some of the more popular Berenstain books. The aim is something along the lines of Will Ferrell family comedy “Elf”.
Pre-production aims to kick off late next year.
