Foxx, Lawrence Are “Sheneneh and Wanda”

A trailer spoof sketch that aired during the BET Awards show is set to become “Sheneneh and Wanda”, a feature film caper comedy for Screen Gems reports Variety.

Martin Lawrence and Jamie Foxx would star as the titular Sheneneh Jenkins and Wanda Wayne respectively, two modern day independent women trying to make it on their own with the help of a bank robbery every now and then.

Lawrence played Sheneneh, a stereotypically flashy Detroit ghetto girl, as a recurring character in five seasons on his mid-90’s FOX sitcom “Martin”. Foxx played Wanda, a character meant to be the ugliest woman in the world, in several skits on hit early 90’s sketch show “In Living Color”.

The two fan-favorite characters were brought together for the first time in the awards show sketch back in June for a mock movie entitled “Skank Robbers”. Reaction was good enough, and the desire to work together on a film project strong enough, that the pair decided to extend the concept into a feature.

Foxx will write the script and he and Martin will produce through their production companies Foxxhole and Runteldat. Here’s the “Skank Robbers” skit below to give you an idea of what to expect:
