Bethesda E3 2015 Showcase

By Mark Poliner
In its first ever presentation at B3, Bethesda held a preview conference at
the Dolby Theater in Hollywood. Surprise announcements and sneak peeks
into the next generation games abounded.
First up was Doom, developed in 1993 by Id Studios, has continued to
innovate and push the boundaries of gaming. The new Doom features killer
demons, blood and guts, and fast action. Single player and multiplayer
modes are being expanded and enhanced.
The biggest surprise was the announcement of Snapmap. With Snapmap,
players are able to design their own maps, floor plans, and experiences. The
possibilities are endless. Users can design the map, designate complete
game parameters, and more.
A new internet platform was introduced, Bethesda.net. This platform will
support all things Bethesda, and the Snapmap. Gamers will have a seamless
access to all the game platforms, user forums, new games, and user mods.
Battlecry is now accepting new signups for its global beta rollout. Those
that signup before June 18 will get priority beta access and a special
in-game award.
Dishonored 2 The Empire of the Isles is in jeopardy once more. There is an
alien usurper to the throne. This time you have the choice to play as
Horvo Ortano or a new character names Emily Caldwell. Remarkably, you can
play the entire game without killing anyone, or inflict as much bloodshed
as possible. It will be supported for PS4, X-Box and PC.
Last week the Elder Scrolls, Tamriel Unlimited was released for the PS4 and
X-Box. Elder Scrolls fans are now able to share with friends globally,
regardless of platform.
Tonight was the debut of the Elder Scrolls, Legends, a strategic card game,
available later this year. Elder Scrolls is continuing to grow and expand.
Legends will be free to play on PC and iPad.
Tom Howard enthusiastically introduced Fallout 4. Work designing this
began immediately after Fallout 3 premiered. The major difference to
Fallout 4 is detail. Every button, lever, and blinky light is labeled. The
entire landscape is magnificently detailed with props, debris, buildings,
and people.
Fallout 4 begins in a world, anticipating the eventual war. The
characters are endlessly customizable, facial features, body types, race,
hair, sex, etc. The character generator can even predict the appearance
of a baby based on the parent’s race and general looks. You can choose
names for yourself, and Cotswold is programmed to say 1000 of the most
popular names. The game even allows conversation choices and responses. The
ruins of downtown Boston amazing, they are texturally rich and full of
detail. The Pip Boy watch is extremely detailed and versatile, it even has
games that resemble classic Video Games.
When Fallout 4 ships, a real Pip Boy watch will be included in the
Collector’s Edition, it even has a dock for you smartphone.
Out and about with your smartphone and can't play Fallout? No more, as of
now, Fallout has a special edition for iPhone and Android platforms.
