We Celebrate The Last Witch Hunter By Looking At The Best Witch Movies From Hollywood Past

Ever since Judy Garland made her way down the Yellow Brick Road Witches and their kind have become a staple of Hollywood and thanks to “The Wizard of Oz” audiences learned that there are both a good and bad classifications for them.

With the pending release of Vin Diesel in “The Last Witch Hunter” I thought it might be fun to look at some of the more iconic Witches to grace the silver screen over the last few decades starting of course with Glenda the Good Witch and the infamous Wicked Witch of the West from “The Wizard of Oz” as they sent the cinematic standard for all others to aspire to in my estimation.

The trio of sisters in “Hocus Pocus” is also a great one to look at as aside from the sequel talk, Bette Midler with her oversized teeth and goofy siblings mix mayhem, menace, music, and merriment to perfection.

One of my favorites is an overlooked thriller called “Spellbinder” where Kelly Preston does a suspense filled turn as a girl on the run from her Coven. If you like a more mature Witch tale, then look no further.

Speaking of Covens, “The Coven” is a must include on this list as it gave a modern and different take on the time honored themes of spells gone awry.

Finally we come to “The Witches of Eastwick” where Jack Nicholson, Cher, Susan Sarandon, and Michelle Pfeiffer combine to make one of the most star-studded lineups in Supernatural Cinema history.

What would you add to the list and you can see our review for “The Last Witch Hunter” online on 10/23/15
