The 2016 Spring Fair held at the Washington State Fairgrounds was better than the last. Family favorites such as the Dock dogs, Racing Pigs, Motorsport Mayhem and fireworks returned for another year of bigger and better fun for families and fans of all ages.
The SillyVille section was opened for the spring as well as four new acres of excitement. Old favorites like the Wild Cat, Giant Slide and C.P. Huntington Train were open as well. Twelve additional food booths were added this year along with new shows and vendors. One of my favorite additions this year was the live stingray encounter.
As one would expect, these creatures were pretty timid however with patience and time I was able to touch a couple. They felt like jelly and their tails felt like rodent tails.
The Spring Fair keeps getting better and better and offers a fantastic time for all and in my opinion; the Spring Fair doesn’t disappoint, it is the perfect spring treat to combat the withdrawals of the big State Fair this fall. With their famous, food, rides, attractions, animals, concerts, and vendors that have made the Puyallup one of the largest fairs in the world drawing over one million guests a year.
