Earthforce Hands On: PAX West 2016
During our coverage of PAX West 2016, I got the chance to play an interesting title called Earthfall. The game reminded me of Left 4 Dead combined with an alien invasion.
Playing co-op with three other players, I used my pistol to cut down waves of enemies until I was able to obtain a shotgun. As we got near a garage, we were forced to inspect various vehicles until we found one that was in working order. Once this was accomplished, I had to locate a tire and put it on the vehicle before we could work as a group to push it into a garage for the final needed repair work.
This was where the waves of enemies really took off and I had to drop the shotgun to go with the faster fire and load rate of the pistol. The vehicle made it to the garage eventually but I was forced to use a 3D printer to create barricades to keep the enemy units from storming us. While it slowed down the wave, it was not enough to keep them out, and although I obtained health from a wall station, I fell and had to wait on a fellow player to revive me and I blasted away while down.
The demo ended with us being overwhelmed by enemy units but as a fan of Left 4Dead I really look forward to one of the best surprises at the show as I cannot wait to play more.
