Borderlands 3: Moxxi’s Heist of the Handsome Jackpot

The first of four planned paid DLC episodes; Moxxi’s Heist of the Handsome Jackpot has arrived for Borderlands 3. The mission tasks players to enter a Casino owned by the deceased Handsome Jack and do what is necessary to restore ownership to Moxxi who claims she was cheated out of it years ago.

What seems simple enough soon takes a turn for the worse as despite the lavish interior; the orbital Casino is a trap which does not let those who enter leave easily and plenty of dangers abound.

It is clear that the Casino is under a new “Management” and they are determined to stop you at all costs. This comes in the form of deadly Mechs and an assortment of goons and enemies. Thankfully players will gain allies along the way as they attempt to gather a crew in order to pull off the heist. This involves many missions to earn their trust and has players venture to areas such as the Vice District and Impound Yard in order to obtain needed items.

The new characters are a colorful lot and are presented in the humor that has become a trademark for the series. Naturally action is the key and there are all sorts of new weapons and items to be obtained and countless enemies which you will have to contend with. While the game does allow up to four players to play through the missions; I ended up doing most of them on my own and only during my final day of playing did some random players come in and join me for some gameplay.

There are also opportunities to gamble along the way from slots and other games such as you may find with Poker Online

The great visuals as well as the action and story are a winning combination and it is always great to get more opportunities to venture into the Borderlands Universe. The content is designed for higher level players so players will want to ensure they have completed the core game before venturing into this DLC in order to get the most from the offering. Let us hope the time until the arrival of the next DLC passes quickly as this was one adventure well worth taking
