NBA, Hollywood, And Music Stars Celebrate Call Of Duty With Hype Battles

The Call of Duty League Launch Weekend kicks off this weekend, January 24-26 in Minneapolis. To celebrate the game’s incredible pop culture legacy, the Call of Duty League is introducing a new competitive entertainment experience – Call of Duty League Hype Battle. Over the course of the season, the Call of Duty League will spotlight a range of celebrity and other surprise guests, competing in the match on Sunday and leading in to the biggest marquee Call of Duty pro team matchups of the weekend.
Kicking off this Sunday, January 26th at 4pm EST/3PM CST, the Hype Battle will include:
  • Karl-Anthony Towns, NBA Player (Minnesota Timberwolves)
  • Andrew Wiggins, NBA Player (Minnesota Timberwolves)
  • Michael B Jordan, Actor
  • Vince Staples, Rapper
A-list actor Michael B. Jordan will be teaming up with Minnesota Timberwolves’ Andrew Wiggins. Minnesota hometown hero and 2x NBA All-Star Karl-Anthony Towns will be teaming up with rapper Vince Staples.
While esports is not a new role for Michael B. Jordan – he recently became an investor in Andbox, the NYC-based esports organization and owners of the Call of Duty League’s Subliners – this will be the first-time he’s had to prove himself in competition. He’s previously said, “I have to have some passion for it. Call of Duty, if anybody knows me, they know that’s my shit.”
