Country Inn & Suites By Radisson: San Diego

Recently we stayed at the Country Inn & Suites By Radisson in beautiful San Diego. This was our first time staying at the locale and it was a pleasant stay from start to finish.

I drove down on a Wednesday from Buena Park having left Knott’s in the early afternoon to ensure I would not be hindered by traffic as I was covering Preview Night at San Diego Comic-Con that evening.

Arriving earlier than expected, I was able to check in and the staff was very engaging and spoke to me about Comic-Con and asked about my wife would be coming to town later so she would be able to get a key should I not be there when she arrived.

I was then given two complimentary beverages and told about the coffee in the lobby as well as the hours from breakfast.

The room was on the 4th floor and was very clean and inviting. I enjoyed seeing a full-size desk and chairs with ample plugs for my laptop and electronics as well as a chair, King bed, flat screen television with HBO, and a fridge. The room also offered a safe, spacious modern bathroom and plenty of space to rest and relax.

The hotel is about 18 minutes from our favorite Light Rail stop and it was an easy transition from the hotel to the light rail which was our mode of travel to and from the convention center during the show.

The hotel offered a hot breakfast every morning and it consisted of scrambled eggs, meat, and potatoes, as well as cereals, fruits, bread, oatmeal, juice, coffee, and milk.

After a long day of covering SDCC, it was nice to come back to a pleasant staff and have numerous dining options near the hotel from fast food to sandwiches just across the lot as well as a Starbucks. There were also numerous options up the hill from the hotel so we did not have a lack of options.

My wife joined me on our second night and enjoyed the room as well as the arm and inviting ambiance while we did not take advantage of it, we noticed a laundry, fitness center, pool, and meeting and business options.

The hotel offered free parking though they did say that may change in the future they did also have Wi-Fi that was good enough for me to upload several video interviews after each day at SDCC.

After a very busy several days at SDCC, we were able to really appreciate being able to relax as a quiet dinner in the room while you watch television can be just what is needed after a busy day enjoying the numerous options that San Diego offers.

We were very impressed with our stay and are considering making it a regular part of our SDCC going forward.
