Sesame Place Reveals Summer Plans

Time for summer fun and this sounds ideal for family fun.

Sesame Place® San Diego officially kicks off summer with the return of its water rides and attractions, now open. From thrilling slides to kid-friendly splash zones, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Starting, Friday, May 24, the park will be open daily with the highly anticipated return of Sesame Summer Splash for the summer season. Included with park admission, guests can enjoy Sesame Place’s amazing water attractions, rides, character interactions, and line up of sun-sational events all summer long!

Families can now explore The Count’s Splash Castle, the park’s most interactive water-play area, boasting over 100 play elements spread across a multi-level adventure zone. Toddlers and small children can make a splash at Big Bird’s Beach, while older children take on the twists, turns, and surprises of Ernie’s Twisty Turny Tunnels, Bert’s Topsy Turvy Tunnels and Snuffy’s Spaghetti Slides. For even more fun, guests can race each other down Honker Dinger Dash.

The day is not complete without family-friendly rides that everyone can enjoy together! From Super Grover’s Box Car Derby, a child’s first roller coaster ride to an imaginary trip to outer space in an Elmo-themed rocket ship on Elmo’s Rockin’ Rockets, the rides at Sesame Place are designed with everyone’s favorite furry friends in mind.

Guests can enhance their visit with exclusive upgrades including luxury daybeds or private cabana rentals for relaxing poolside comfort or Dine with Elmo & Friends at the Sunny Day Café for a dining adventure the whole family will love! Families will make precious memories and enjoy a delicious family-friendly buffet-style meal during this immersive experience with singing, dancing, and photo opportunities with Sesame Street fans.

Guests can sing and dance along with exciting the live show Welcome to Our Street! Live Character Show at the Sesame Street Theater featuring your Sesame Street friends, plus enjoy the show-stopping, colorful and energetic Sesame Street Party Parade with fantastic floats, high energy music, and performers jumping rope and hula hooping.

The excitement doesn’t end there! Sesame Summer Splash brings a wave of amazing events all season long, guaranteeing non-stop summer fun for everyone.

Sesame Summer Splash Event Highlights:

• Tango’s Gotcha Celebration – From July 11-13, guests can celebrate Elmo’s adopted puppy, Tango, and the day she made her way to Sesame Street. Guests can meet Tango throughout the day and are invited to go on a scavenger hunt around the park to find all the puppy items Elmo needs to take care of Tango! Parkgoers can pick up a free scavenger hunt sheet at Guest Services.
• Waterpark Challenge – From July 28-30, in honor of National Waterpark Day, water slide enthusiasts are invited to Sesame Place San Diego to complete the Waterpark Challenge and enjoy select water rides and slides for a prize.
• Best Friends Weekend – A celebration of friendship all weekend long from August 1 to 3! From Bert and Ernie to Elmo and Abby, these friends are pairing up to share fun and heartwarming moments with guests. The park offers Best Friends Meet & Greets, a special friendship-themed storytime, and more!
• B is for Bubbles Weekend – Bubbles all around from August 8-10 as families will be dazzled by bubble performers, meeting enchanting mermaids, and jumping to the beat during the Furry Friends Bubble Dance Party.
