From The World of John Wick: Ballerina Is The Action Event Of The Summer

The first spin-off from the” John Wick” universe has arrived, and “From The World of John Wick: Ballerina” is a nonstop action thriller that more than earns its place in the franchise.

Ana de Armas stars as Eve, who enters the Ballet Academy under the tutelage of the Director (Anjelica Huston), after being rescued by Winston (Ian McShane), following tragic events in her life.

Given the choice, Eve becomes a student of both dance and assassination as she spends years in training with her ultimate goal of exacting revenge upon those who killed her father.

Once she earns her way and begins her career; Eve never loses her focus of revenge even when she is warned away stating that the answer she seeks will only cause more problems and that there are rules that must be followed despite her personal wishes.

Defiantly, he pursues a lead after a chance encounter and sets a deadly game into motion where the odds are massively against her and she has only herself for survival.

What follows is an intense and brutal action film that contains the action and top-flight choreography that fans have come to expect from the series. The movie was delayed a year so that additional action sequences could be added to the film and it is clearly all on the screen for the audience to take in.

The intense choreography and innovative and at times brutal takedowns had the audience cheering throughout during our test screening. What makes it even more interesting is that Eve has her own unique style that shows that she had similar training to John Wick yet lacks his polish and experience which results in her being an extremely effective although at times flawed operative because certain situations catch her off guard.

There are several cameos from the franchise as the movie is set between the third and fourth “John Wick” films and effectively tells the story between them.

From start to finish I was engaged and caught up in the torrent of action that made the film the action event of the summer. The door is wide open for another entry into the series and with two “John Wick” films and another spin-off already announced, it will be very interesting to see what the future for Eve holds.
