The latest digital animation film from Pixar has arrived and “Elio” is a charming film that younger viewers should enjoy.
The movie follows a young orphan named Elio (Yonas Kibreab), who struggles to make friends and be happy.
His Aunt Olga (Zoe Saldaña), cares for him but her career as a military officer and her unprepared guardianship makes Elio feel unwanted.
A chance museum experience makes Elio desire to contact Aliens and be abducted and this obsession further isolates himself from his peers.
When Elio responds to a chance Radio signal; his life changes as he gets his wish and is whisked off to an alien world filled with a variety of benevolent intellectuals from numerous planets.
Ecstatic to finally be accepted, Elio basks in the attention but soon finds himself in a conflict with the tyrannical Lord Grigon (Brad Garrett), who wants to subjegate the kind aliens.
What follows is a charming adventure with messages about love, acceptance, ans finding your worth that should resonate well with viewers of all ages.
The visual are impressive and even if the story is a bit light; the cast and jovial nature of the movie make it a winning entry for Pixar and an ideal summer family adventure.
