FBC: Firebreak is the latest game in the Control universe and is a big departure from the prior game. Teams of three take on various classes to embark on flaming hot missions that require players to brave fires and other dangers to repair gear, fans, and a furnace as well as dangerous Sticky Notes amongst others.
Players can alter the gear, and some options include a water cannon to put out small fires and a wrench to repair gear and fight enemies.
Enemies appear at random and often teleport in, forcing players to abandon mission objectives and fight. However, with limited ammunition, it can often be wiser to let the fires thin the ranks.
Players will go down often and can be revived and use water stations to cool off, which is a big help and there are enough mission types to keep players happy.
Some may have issues with some dated graphics and gameplay, but I got vibes of Team Fortress 2 as I played, and it is a fun outing for me, especially with the improvements made by recent updates.
The missions are fun but not overly complex, and do rely on teamwork to accomplish the tasks and make it back to the elevator in one piece.
Some may long for more polish and complexity but the game provides escapist entertainment and as such it is easier to overlook the flaws and simply enjoy the action.
