Killing Floor 3 Gives Gamers More Of The Mayhem They Expect

After a delayed release for fine-tuning after a early testing session; Killing Floor 3 has arrived for fans eager to take out legions of ghoulish and ghastly creations.

Players can play solo or in groups via matchmaking and will be able to select the locale, difficulty level, and loadout for their mission before being matched up and setting into the action.

Like the prior games in the series; gameplay involves waves of creatures attacking from multiple points on a map while players look to use defenses from gun emplacements to fans to eliminate enemies.

After each round players can reload, pick new weapons, repair and upgrade armor and health, and special items such as a tool to activate various technology to help them eliminate the hordes.

Players will have a limited budget to work with so there is encouragement to dispatch as many enemies as possible to increase your operating budget.

I worked with a timed escort that when activated would dispatch enemies while looing in their direction; this combined with the arsenal of pistols, shotguns, machine guns, and more in numerous variations really worked well.

After so many waves; players will be given a chance to take on a boss which when dispatched completes the level and returns players to base with a summary of their performance.

Players who are downed have the ability to be revived by a teammate or wait until the next round to return. However if all players are downed the mission is failed.

The graphics are solid and there are some great locals from labs to bases filled with all kinds of creepy atmospheric settings. I liked that there was the ability to shut doors to slow down the hordes as well.

My biggest issue with the game was at times it seemed like I was playing an enhanced version of Killing Floor 2 as while the maps and enemies were different; the gameplay was pretty much the same and it became repetitive for me over time. This is not to say that I did not have fun playing the game; but usually 1-2 rounds was more than enough for me at a time.

In the end; Killing Floor 3 gives fans more of what they expect from the series and despite some bugs; delivers enough fun to make it worth your time.
