Hutch Mansell (Bob Odenkirk) is back to dispense his rage fueled justice in “Nobody 2”. Hutch is attempting to pay down a large debt he obtained during the first film by doing all kinds of tasks for a group that requires his special skills.
Unfortunately; this has caused him to frequently miss family dinners and events which has caused a strain with his wife Becca (Connie Nielsen).
Hutch decides to take the family and his father David (Christopher Lloyd), to a combination Midway, Waterpark, and Fair locale where his father took him on their only family vacation in his youth.
Trouble soon finds them in an arcade and a when a staff member lays their hands on Hutch’s daughter; the mild-mannered family man vanishes to be replaced with a rage-filled individual who promptly settles the issues.
This gets the attention of corrupt Sherrif Abel (Colin Hanks) who protects various criminal ventures that come through the town under the larger operations of the vicious Lendina (Sharon Stone), who sets her aim on Hutch and his family when his attempts to have a “family vacation” cross him up and cause him to dispense the payback that only he can.
The movie cleverly mixes humor and action and Hutch while not indestructible; gives as good as he gets and the cleverly staged action sequences while at times over-the-top, are deeply satisfying.
The rousing finale and entertaining pace at 89 minutes keeps things moving and the focus on the action and characters which will hopefully lead to a third film in the series as “Nobody 2” was a fun summer diversion and packed the action that fans will expect.
