Chip ‘n Clawz vs. The Brainioids is an unexpected delight, providing solo and multiplayer gaming with a fun and, at times, retro aesthetic.
Players play as either Chip or his robotic friend Clawz as they journey from locale to locale to take on the evil Brainiods. Players will capture locations to build harvesters, combat robots, gun emplacements, vehicle locations, and more as they attempt to take down the enemy forces.
Boxing, rocket, and sniping units can be created, which will assist players who can melee and shoot enemy units as they attempt to avoid and eliminate enemies and their key structures.
Along the way, the challenge increases to the point where alternating between characters after a defeat is no longer ideal, and having a local or online player assist is key, as I found some missions that could not work well easily, as I could not balance attack and defense on my own effectively.
The graphics are effective, and the smooth gameplay really fits the action, as I learned which characters worked best for each situation, as there are some differences between them, such as Clawz being able to repair a facility.
The challenge increases with each level,l and the comic visuals and story elements make the game an ideal adventure for the entire family.
