NBA 2K26 Delivers Intense Hardwood Action

Time to take to the hardwood as NBA 2K26 has arrived. Not only is the action and strategy as intense as before; but WNBA teams have been added to the roster to allow players more options than ever. I had to adjust myself to the mechanics of the game as jump shots require pushing a button and using a key release point in order to find success.

Thankfully the training mode helped and while the defense needed some work; I was able to start putting effective shots up in no time as I had not played much of the series in recent years as other members of the team have been our go-to for references. I found the music to be a bit of a distraction but learned that it could be muted as with so much going on; I did not need more distractions as the NBA elite were moving past me frequently in transition.

Being able to play against real and digital competition presents numerous challenges and the career options allow players to start as a Rookie on the skill tree or a more seasoned pro so they can grow their skills and find appropriate competition.

The challenge is there but what really stood out were the sharp graphics and fluid motions which for me made the game a fantastic adaptation of the game. I had to adjust to the newer style of outside in having played during the era where moving the ball inside and attacking the basket was the gameplan.

I would pack my defense to protect the key and find jumpers falling all day long. Moving the D out helped but old tendencies are hard to change and I would work the ball around the key in an effort to isolate and attack the basket.

I found a good balance worked well and once I got used to the positioning; my game improved.

From the visuals to the sounds and loaded rosters of teams; the game is a winner and one that fans of the game and series will not want to miss.
