The Competitor – Hyperkin’s DualSense-style Xbox controller Review

(Review by Chris D.)

A controller that looks and feels like the dual sense controller of the Xbox is not something I was expecting but gladly welcome it. I have Played Playstation more often than other modern consoles but do enjoy the Xbox 360 and Xbox X for its Gears series and Halo.

I got this in the mail and found how smooth the controls seemed. It’s an affordable controller that gets the job done for the game you’re playing without any hassle.

The controller comes in white and black and the buttons altho small, feel good when you’re going through the menu and hub screens.

The one complaint it’s mostly my own negligence is the buttons underneath, the back paddles sit underneath the controller and I have slipped through a cut scene I really wanted to watch once too often.

As I’m not used to buttons where my pinky finger sits. In the package I got a 10 foot cable which seemed a bit excessive and it doesn’t wind very well.

One thing I have found is a flat cable is better than a round one and these tend to get damaged easily but u need to wind it so ur not tripping over it. Extra pads also come with the devices for a different feel on the analog sticks.

Overall if you’re an xbox fan or pc gamer and prefer the Playstation style this is the controller you’ve been waiting for at an affordable price.
