NCSOFT Kicks Off G-Star 2025 with Surprise Announcement and Trailer Showcasing Horizon’s Signature Hunting Action and Advanced Combat System for Large-Scale, Cross-Platform Mobile and PC (PURPLE) Gameplay

PANGYO, Korea (November 13, 2025) – Renowned Korean developer and publisher NCSOFT unveiled today its new global MMORPG, Horizon Steel Frontiers, at Korea’s premiere game conference, G-Star 2025.

Developed in collaboration with Guerrilla (Horizon, Killzone), a studio under Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE), Horizon Steel Frontiers is an MMORPG based on the acclaimed Horizon universe.

HORIZON’S NEW FRONTIERS
Set in the lands of the machine hunters known as the Deadlands, the game builds on Horizon’s signature hunting-action gameplay while introducing advanced MMORPG systems, featuring deeply customizable combat and extensive player freedom. The title aims to deliver a distinct Horizon experience to players around the world.

NCSOFT has launched the official Horizon Steel Frontiers brand website, featuring the debut trailer and developer interviews. The trailer highlights the world of Horizon Steel Frontiers, mechanical creatures, and large-scale battles unique to the game. In the developer interview, Jan-Bart Van Beek — Studio Director and Art Director at Guerrilla — shared his excitement about collaborating with NCSOFT to bring this Horizon experience to life. NC CEO & CCO (Chief Creative Officer) Taekjin Kim and NC Executive Producer Sunggu Lee offered their insight, inspiration and hopes for the new collaboration in the 10-minute gameplay/developer commentary video.

Further details about Horizon Steel Frontiers will be gradually revealed through the official website. The game will be cross platform for mobile and PC (PURPLE, NCSOFT’s proprietary game platform).

NCSOFT’S GLOBAL LINEUP SHINES AT G-STAR 2025
Following Horizon Steel Frontiers’ announcement, NCSOFT presented its lineup of five global titles, with each title’s executive producer taking the stage to introduce their respective projects — AION 2, CINDER CITY, Horizon Steel Frontiers, LIMIT ZERO BREAKERS, and TIME TAKERS.

• AION 2, set for official launch Wednesday, November 19 in Korea and Taiwan, is one of the most highly anticipated titles of 2025. It aims to be the complete edition of the original AION, advancing various aspects of its core content. Aion 2 is scheduled for a global release in 2026.
• CINDER CITY is an open-world tactical shooter currently in development by NCSOFT studio BigFire Games. It offers an AAA-quality narrative experience set in an expansive open world.
• Horizon Steel Frontiers is a global title unveiled for the first time at G-STAR 2025. This next-generation MMORPG is being developed by NCSOFT, based on the globally acclaimed Horizon IP.
• LIMIT ZERO BREAKERS, an anime-inspired action RPG in development by VIC Game Studio, and TIME TAKERS, a time-survival shooter developed by Mistil Games, are upcoming titles to be published by NCSOFT.

Continuing its strong business relationship with NVIDIA, all G-Star demo stations at the NCSOFT booth will be equipped with NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 5080 GPUs, ensuring top-tier performance and visual fidelity. Visitors will experience playable demos of AION 2 and CINDER CITY on systems optimized through close technical collaboration between NCSOFT and NVIDIA.
