Lego Batman: Legacy Of The Dark Knight Is A Winning Adventure For Fans Of All Ages

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight has arrived and, in doing so, delivers one of the most enjoyable entries in both series.

Clearly using events from the original Keaton to Bale films, as well as numerous nods to other franchise moments, players make their way through a sprawling Gotham City, complete with citizens, traffic, and abundant side missions.

Players are able to upgrade their gear and costumes as well as vehicles to complete the numerous chapters and side missions in the game.

I played it solo, but the game has co-op gameplay, as the second player is covered by the game when playing alone.

Players can play as Catwoman, Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, and other characters who each bring special abilities with them.

Batman is ideal for his Batarang and pulling objects, while Robin is ideal for linking items to create a path and connect power.

Players can opt for control of players and summon vehicles as needed.

There are Fast Travel points throughout, but I tended to use my grapple and glide in combination with driving, as I enjoyed the highly detailed city.

The locales were great fun and offered some enjoyable puzzles and enemies to battle. Combat is family-friendly and can become a bit monotonous as wave after wave can get old.

Thankfully, the abundance of enemies from the main gallery of rogues, to some of the more obscure enemies makes the game deeply fun and engaging.

The story and humor are ideal for all ages, and I can honestly say that this was the most fun I had in a Lego or Batman game in a long time.

I did encounter a few bugs that required me to restart a segment a couple of times, but they did not stop me from completing the game.

The game offers plenty of side missions as well as a free-roam style that allows for lots of play after completing the main story, and also allows players to spend time with some costumes and ability variants.

The music in the game fit well, and the voice acting was on point, which added to the enjoyment.

If you like Lego and Batman, you will not want to miss this one.
