About the Panel:
In a time when stories are being challenged, restricted, and even erased, who gets to tell them matters more than ever. This panel spotlights Black female storytellers from all areas of the industry who are shaping narratives across fiction and nonfiction, bringing forward perspectives that have long been overlooked. From honoring real-life stories to building new worlds, they’ll share how they stay true to their vision while navigating the realities of the industry. Through personal insights and lived experiences, panelists will explore their creative process, the responsibility of telling authentic stories while staying true to popular source material, the challenges of forging new paths, and the role of fandom in building connection and identity.
At the end of the panel, one lucky audience member will have the opportunity to win a commissioned 5×7 bust illustration from Ryan Oakley.
