Making Rose City the Destination for Stargate Fans
This September
PORTLAND — Rose City Comic Con is proud to announce that Rachel Luttrell, Joe Flanigan, and Ben Browder, three of the most beloved stars of the Stargateuniverse, will appear at this year’s convention, September 11–13 at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland. The trio joins previously announced Stargateguests Richard Dean Anderson, Torri Higginson, and Tony Amendola, bringing together six original cast members from Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis for one of the most significant gatherings of Stargatetalent in convention history.
Stargate began as a 1994 feature film from Roland Emmerich and Dean Devlin before expanding into one of the most beloved science fiction universes in television history. Stargate SG-1 ran for ten seasons (1997–2007), spawning the spinoff Stargate Atlantis (2004–2009) and cultivating a global fanbase that remains devoted more than two decades later. The franchise’s impact on science fiction television is immeasurable — its blend of mythology, humor, and ensemble storytelling set a standard that continues to influence genre television today.
Joe Flanigan led the Atlantis expedition as the quick-witted and fiercely loyal Lieutenant Colonel John Sheppard for all five seasons of the series. Rachel Luttrell brought grace, strength, and humanity to Teyla Emmagan, the Athosian warrior who became the heart of the Atlantisteam. Ben Browder joined Stargate SG-1 in its ninth season as Lieutenant Colonel Cameron Mitchell, bringing fresh energy and a pilot’s instinct to the legendary team.
They join Richard Dean Anderson, who brought warmth, wit, and quiet heroism to Colonel (later Brigadier General) Jack O’Neill across the full run of SG-1; Torri Higginson, who gave Atlantisits moral center as the commanding and compassionate Dr. Elizabeth Weir; and Tony Amendola, beloved by fans for his portrayal of the wise and battle-hardened Master Bra’tac across both series.
Rose City Comic Con will be held September 11-13, 2026, at the Oregon Convention Center. Attendee badges may be purchased at rosecitycomiccon.com.
