SeaWorld Reveals Great New Events For Feb.

LUNAR NEW YEAR AT SEAWORLD: Sights, sounds, and savory sensations of Asia will all be part of SeaWorld San Diego’s Lunar New Year. This cultural celebration features jaw-dropping Chinese acrobats, mouthwatering cuisine, traditional performances and, in recognition of Year of the Dog, an all-new Puppy Garden. Visitors will be immediately immersed in festive red décor and artwork depicting the Year of the Dog — the 11th Chinese Zodiac sign. SeaWorld’s new Puppy Garden will emphasize the importance of responsible pet adoption and ownership. Additionally, as a symbol of good fortune in the New Year, guests may receive a customary red envelope with a special treat inside. San Diego’s premier Asian celebration kicks off this weekend (Feb. 10–11) and continues Feb. 17–19 and 24–25.

SAVE WITH SEAWORLD FUN CARD: SeaWorld’s 2018 Fun Card is plain and simple: visitors pay for a day and play at the park all year. The popular Fun Card is an incredible value that pays for itself after only one visit, providing guests with a year full of fun at SeaWorld now through Dec. 30. This is the perfect year for a SeaWorld Fun Card with the much anticipated summer opening of Electric Eel, the tallest and fastest roller coaster in San Diego history. Guests can also enjoy all the exciting seasonal events the park has to offer, including the all-new Sesame Street Party Parade debuting this May as well as the return of the Seven Seas Food Festival, one of San Diego’s most popular culinary experiences with more than 50 epicurean delights and 100 craft beers, along with dishes prepared with some of the world’s most exotic ingredients.

CAMP SIGN-UP UNDER WAY: February is the perfect time to sign up for summer camp and registration is under way for SeaWorld Camps. Kids of all ages can get into some serious summer fun at SeaWorld’s camp programs, where activities include interactions with animals and behind-the-scenes looks at how they are cared for and trained. Day Camp is available for 1st through 6th graders on select weeks between July 9 and Aug. 17. Five-night Resident Camps for 5th through 12th graders take place July 18–Aug. 10. For more information, visit www.SeaWorldSanDiego.com/Education.

SEAWORLD CLEAN THE BAY DAY A HUGE SUCCESS: SeaWorld teamed with a high school conservation club, season Pass holders and the community to keep Mission Bay beautiful at the SeaWorld Clean the Bay Day event last month. More than 100 SeaWorld and community volunteers, along with the Eastlake High School Titan’s Ark conservation club, collected nearly 650 pounds of trash and debris, along with more than 120 pounds of recyclable materials off the Mission Bay shoreline. The trash picked up ranged from cigarette butts to a discarded broken bicycle. The SeaWorld Rescue Team also educated participants about the effects debris have on wildlife.

GEARED FOR ANIMAL RESCUE IN 2018: Since 1965, SeaWorld San Diego has rescued more than 17,000 marine animals. In 2017, the marine park’s Rescue Team aided nearly 1,000 marine mammals, birds and sea turtles. This year, SeaWorld is again ready to give a second chance at life to ill, injured, abandoned or stranded animals. Members of the public who see a marine animal that appears in need of help can call SeaWorld’s Rescue Hotline at (800) 541-SEAL (7325) or report it online.
