Great news for fans of “Alien”.
Rose City Comic Con is proud to announce that Tom Skerritt and Veronica Cartwright, two of the original cast members of Ridley Scott’s landmark 1979 science fiction thriller Alien, will appear at this year’s convention, September 11-13 at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland.
Alien is one of the most influential films in cinema history. Directed by Ridley Scott and released in May 1979, the film redefined science fiction and horror, earning the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects and launching a franchise that has spanned more than four decades, multiple sequels, and a current television series. Its story of a commercial space crew hunted by a terrifying extraterrestrial predator changed the way audiences experience suspense on screen, and the film remains as visceral and gripping today as it was nearly 50 years ago.
Tom Skerritt played Captain Dallas, the commanding and quietly conflicted leader of the doomed Nostromo crew, while Veronica Cartwright portrayed Navigator Lambert, delivering one of the film’s most emotionally raw and memorable performances. Skerritt, also beloved for MASH, Top Gun, and Picket Fences, and Cartwright, whose career spans Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds and the 1978 remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers, are two of the surviving members of the original Alien cast. Their joint convention appearances are rare events, and Rose City Comic Con is thrilled to bring them to Portland fans.
Rose City Comic Con will be held September 11-13, 2026, at the Oregon Convention Center. Attendee badges may be purchased at rosecitycomiccon.com.
